Hippie hollow. Naked as a jay-bird relaxing in the sun getting some studying done. McGregor Park more commonly known as Hippie Hollow is on the rocky shore of Lake Travis near Austin Texas. Written June 26 2014.

The name Hippie Hollow dates back 30 years to a time when large groups of shaggy-haired nomads sought out the haven along Comanche Trail 15 miles west of Austin building giant bonfires. Hippie Hollow Campground. We are surround by Beautiful Lakes and Waterfalls and Cool Mountain Steams.

Unlike a number of years ago the park is now restricted to 18 year olds and older. This heavily-used park is popular for sunbathing and swimming. Harry Schroeder who has visited the park since the late 70s said the original Hippie.

However Hippie Hollow is very clean and well kept up. For those broad minded souls who like things a bit different a visit to Hippie Hollow should be on their travel agenda. Welcome to our beautiful piece of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
